    REPORT: 93% Of Facebook Profiles Not Secured

    Only seven percent of those surveyed by BitDefender use any security solution for their Facebook profiles, despite the fact that 87 percent have seen postings that look like rogue applications.

    BitDefender had surveyed 2,713 people between the ages of 18 and 65, and qualified that this doesn’t count as a representative sample for the entire social network.

    This is interesting, but it’s also stated in the second paragraph that it’s useless data.

    Then why is AllFacebook posting it? What’s the point? (HINT: A huge sidebar full of ads).

    I’m posting this here because I want you to understand that these numbers are nonsense. They’re sensationalistic garbage that may actually gain traction.

    1. trueandgoodfamily said: One security solution re Facebook applications is not to allow access by ANY apps. I actually do this. A less severe form allows access only to those you’re 100% sure of. BitDefender surely doesn’t include these solutions. Unscientific AND biased.
